I just thought I would introduce myself to everyone who has been kind enough to favorite or view my gallery thus far, and for everyone else who is yet to come.
Legal Birth Name:
Mayan Coromoto Mckenzie Angulo
(A mouth full I know!)
Background:
I am a Barbadian/Venezuelan (Mother's doing) currently living in Trinidad and Tobago, and making jewelry has always been a passion of mine, but I only recently discovered that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life (no matter how many blisters or broken nails I might receive!)
Although the type of things I make shouldn't necessarily be called "jewelry" seeing as they don't have jewels in them, but never the less that is what I shall call them!
Information on Materials:
I don't use any plastic beads of any kind, just a personal preference really, I find it takes down the visual value of a piece, (especially if you mix semi precious stones with plastic beads! a MAJOR no no for me!)
The matierals I use mostly are glass, seeds from any and every country I have been to or can get to really, bone, hemp, waxed cord, semi precious stones (still learning the various names of them) horn bone, sea glass, shells, wood, silver or copper wire, and anything else that I will get my hands on and discover.
Names, Names, Names:
Elephanto-Ideas is the name that will be associated with my jewelry, anyone can contact me by my e-mail listed on the deviant information if they are interested in my jewelry for themselves or others.
Other Information:
I take all the photographs of my work to showcase them in natural light, (seeing as majority of the time would see the pieces in natural light if you wore them and not studio light.) And if anyone is interested I also have a photography Deviant Art account -

Well, it was a pleasure typing to you and hopefully I will virtually see you all again soon!
Ciao,
Mayan

your biggest fan.

Art is not merely an imitation of the reality of nature, but in truth a metaphysical supplement to the reality of nature, placed alongside thereof for its conquest.
